At Last...My Love Has Come Along

It's been almost a month since Cooper got to play with his friend, Carli. Since there's no way they can play together in the house anymore (185 lbs. of clumsey, drooling, wrestling dog - I don't think so!) we took them to the school so they could have all the room they needed. They had a blast. They played and played and played until they were totally exhausted and then played some more. We had to stand on the benches to avoid the slobber that was being flung left and right. Carli likes to run and Cooper does not - it takes too much energy, so he just waits until she comes back around and then throws her to the ground and slobbers on her.

Ahh, true love!

Check out Cooper's kiss

March Madness....at Mt. View Middle School

Aleah and her fellow Lady Lancers are winding down their basketball season. They are 4-3 with one game left tonight. She has really enjoyed playing and learning the game. Her favorite is still defense but she has managed to get off a few shots as well. She kept coming so close to getting a basket but it would bounce off the rim. As parents, we were a) thankful that she at least hit the rim! and b) praying that she would at least just make one basket this season! Well, in her next to last game, her teammates finally passed her the ball and she let it soar and........SWOOOOSH! A 3-POINTER, none the less!!! She was so excited and we sat there with our mouths hanging open. lol Way to go Aleah!

Aleah steals the ball.

Four Eyes!!!

Aleah discovered what the world really looks like this week! After flunking the eye test at school, I finally took her to the eye doctor and discovered that she is nearsighted. Poor kid couldn't see the chalkboard at school and had to sit on the front row - nerd! haha So she picked out two pairs of glasses and can now see - and she looks mighty cute in them to boot! She was amazed at how clear things were. Poor, neglected kid!

Lexi's 18th Birthday

For Lexi's birthday, we went to Applebees for dinner - her favorite restaurant. Kaylyn was able to show up and surprise Lexi, even though Dad almost blew the surprise in the car on the way! There was lots of yummy food (boneless chicken wings, quesadillas, oriental chicken salad, etc.) and presents to open.

Mom and Dad surprised Lexi with tickets to the Taylor Swift concert in May.
Kaylyn got her a Twilight bag with Edward on it - Lexi said she was going to sleep on it! And Aleah got her some soap which, after opening, Lexi said, "Hey! Are you saying I stink and need to use soap?" Well....

Tonight, Lexi had a party here at the house. She told me she invited about 40 friends but not to worry because they wouldn't all show up. Guess what? They all showed up! Good thing I cleaned out the grocery store this afternoon. Cooper had a hay day with all those kids here and all the food!!!! He was salivating all night. And he only managed to chew up a few shoes. Just kidding, but he sure would have liked to.

Lots of shoes for Coop to choose from.
"Can I have some?"

6 Months Old

Ever heard of a 99 lb. six-month old? That's an English Mastiff puppy for ya! He turned six months old yesterday and weighed in at 99 pounds and was 27.5 inches tall - and growing like a weed! Too bad his brain hasn't caught up yet... and likely never will. But everybody loves Cooper and he certainly loves them back. He's ready and waiting with a slobbery kiss for anybody who's unfortunate enough to let their guard down!
The "weapon" for those unfortunate souls!

Up, Up and Away

It is so fun to play with Cooper's little mind! At the very mention of the word
T-R-E-A-T, he starts to drool big time and will do anything to get one. So we thought we'd get some laughs at his expense and tie it to a couple of helium balloons. Well, he couldn't decide if he was a) too scared of the balloons to worry about getting the treat or b) wanted the treat so bad that he could ignore the fact that the balloons scared him spitless (okay, not spitless because he was still drooling up a storm!). After watching the balloons float around the room for a while, he started jumping up trying to get the treat. Eventually he was able to grab the treat and chew it up, but it was still attached to the balloons so they hovered right above his head. Needless to say, he kept his eyes peeled on those balloons but was able to overcome his fear and successfully get his treat! Way to go Coop!

7th Grade Basketball

Aleah decided she wanted to try playing basketball again this year after taking a couple of years off. She's really enjoying it so far, although they've only had one game. They beat their opponents 20-8 so what's not to enjoy?
Aleah, #8, almost puts one in.
Defense is her favorite part of the game.
Spectators or hecklers? Either way, they look like trouble!
