Senior Prom

Last night was Lexi's Senior Prom. It was a bitter sweet moment. I can't believe that she's going to graduate in a month and that was her last formal dance in high school. I suppose the next time I'll be helping her with her hair, dress and jewelry she'll be getting married!

About three weeks ago, we got a loud knock on our front door at 10:30 pm. We opened the door to find a paper plate filled with whipping cream covered by another plate on top that read: "Lexi, will you go to Prom with me? PS No Hands" So Lexi pulled back her hair and dug in, only to discover on the bottom of the plate was written: "Flip over". Funny! When flipped over, the name Brayden Crump appeared. She was very excited!

The next morning she had diving class at the college with him and wanted to answer him back then. So we took one of Cooper's rings and wrote YES on it. She talked to her teacher before class and got him to help her out. During the class he threw the ring into the pool and made up some reason to dive to the bottom to get it. He asked Brayden to go first. Brayden had no idea but the rest of the class was in on it. So he did his dive and came up with the ring, grinning when he saw what was written on it!

Lexi of course spent all day yesterday primping and preparing for the dance. Her and her friend, Kaylee, helped one another out and when they were done - they looked gorgeous! Brayden picked Lexi up and they went to dinner at Mustard Seed in North Spokane and then headed downtown to walk around Riverfront park and ride the carrousel. Try riding a horse in a big, poofy prom dress! After going to and spending a while at the dance, they headed back downtown to meet up with some friends and walk around the Davenport Hotel. She had a great time!!!

Wow! She looks beautiful - and cute red headed boy she's with! That's a fun way to be asked out and to respond.
Ryan will have to look her up at BYU and see if he can get in line for a date!

Those were the days. Gorgeous dress! I had my senior prom dress made and can't find it anywhere. I was hoping one of my daughter might wear it. Wishful thinking right??
